Digital Benefits 2

Following on from yesterdays blog I have clicked another button and made the photo darker. Two more buttons and it was darker still with a sepia tone. In the darkroom I could make some areas lighter by dodging (allowing less light from the enlarger to fall on the paper) and I could make some areas darker by burning (allowing more light to fall on the paper). You can now do this on the computer but if you don't like the result It hasn't cost you any money. Just start again from the point where you did like your photo. However if you make the whole photo darker it is called decreasing the exposure not burning.

It really is much simpler to carry out darkroom techniques on the computer. Even if you just want to take snaps it is worth getting to know some photographic manipulation software and it will transform your photos.

Happy snapping
