Paris is full of long, straight avenues following the reconstruction of the city by Baron Haussmann in the ninteenth century. You get great views from long distances and believe it or not the view on the left of the Eiffel Tower is from a long distance.The photo was taken from a place called the Trocadero and just a few yards from where this photo was taken is the metro station the entrance to which you can see on the right.
As for the photo on the left, when you take a photo it is really difficult to match up finger and tip of the tower. I manipulatated the height of the tower so you are looking at the tallest Eiffel Tower ever.
